# Earn JamPoints by Contributing

Share event information, inspire the community, and earn rewards along the way.

**At Swing Jam, everyone can be a co-creator**. By sharing or updating event and social information, you help connect dancers and keep the community accurate and alive. Every contribution counts — and gets rewarded.

### What are JamPoints?

JamPoints are rewards you earn by improving Swing Jam. They can be redeemed for subscriptions and other benefits.

### How to Earn JamPoints

You earn points by contributing event or social information:

* **Share a new event or social** — add something the community doesn't know about yet
* **Update existing information** — fix inaccuracies or add details like instructors, DJs, staff, competitions, and more

The more useful your contribution, the more JamPoints you can earn.

### How Scoring Works

Different fields carry different point values. You'll see an **estimated score before you submit**, so you always know what to expect.

View the full scoring table in the app when making a contribution.

### Good to Know

* Contributions are reviewed by the admin team before points are awarded
* Final points appear in your **Notification** once approved
* JamPoints can be redeemed for subscriptions and other benefits

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://swing-jam.gitbook.io/swing-jam-101/mindset/earn-jampoints-by-contributing.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
