# Post Events & Socials

You might wonder where all these event listings come from. Some of them are edited, reviewed, and published by our admins — usually our staff — but many events and socials are contributed directly by dancers who share local information they know.

So besides finding events, you can also share the events and socials you know!

### Post an event

On the \[Post] page, you can tap \[Share an Event] to publish a new event. All events require review and approval from the Swing Jam admins, unless you are a registered organizer.

### Post a Social

On the \[Post] page, you can tap \[Share a Social] to publish a social dance. All socials also require admin review and approval, unless you are a registered organizer.

{% hint style="info" %}
If you tap Questions about this event/social?] in the top-right corner of an event or social detail page, you can see the history of changes to that listing, including when it was updated and by whom.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://swing-jam.gitbook.io/swing-jam-101/key-features/publish-your-docs.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
